About this market
Serbia is the largest power system in the western Balkans and remains dominated by lignite from the Kolubara and Kostolac basins, which keeps generation costs low and emissions high. It has published day-ahead prices since late 2016, longer than any of its neighbours, and prices below zero on less than one day in a hundred.
