The cheapest and most expensive days on record
Across 3,697 days of records for Lithuania, going back to 22 September 2016, the cheapest day averaged €-2.61/MWh on 29 June 2025 and the most expensive €823.64/MWh on 17 August 2022 — €826.25 apart.
How prices have changed over a year
Over the last 30 days Lithuania averaged €165.95/MWh. The same 30 days a year earlier averaged €99.49/MWh — €66.47 more.
The comparison is against the same weeks a year earlier rather than the previous month, because electricity is seasonal: measuring September against August would measure the calendar rather than the market.
About this market
Lithuania trades on Nord Pool with Latvia and Estonia and the three price almost as one: Lithuania averages €89.3/MWh since 2024, Latvia €89.2. Domestic generation has been thin since the Ignalina nuclear plant closed, so the Baltic price is largely set by what arrives over the interconnectors — and goes below zero on about one day in nine when Nordic hydro and wind are running hard.
